Katy and Chris are about as fun of a couple as I’ve ever met. There aren’t too many times when they aren’t cutting up and laughing…which I LOVE. =)
Their wedding was all at Crosswater Hall at Nocatee. If you haven’t been down there, it’s a must see. The ballroom has the most beautiful lighting, and the setting for the ceremony is breathtaking with palm trees in every direction. Their wedding day was absolutely beautiful… filled with lots of fun, love, some amazing dance moves, and even tears when the night was over. I loved being a part of it…every step of the way.
Thank you to Katy and Chris for having me, and thank you to the amazing vendors that made the day so easy and perfect.

Ceremony Location: on the lawn at Crosswater Hall at Nocatee
Reception Location: Crosswater Hall at Nocatee in Ponte Vedra, FL
Caterer: Mai Oui Gourmet. Karen and her staff from Mai Oui were amazing. They are extremely professional and are a main reason why our wedding day went off without a hitch. Their attention to detail went above and beyond anything I could have asked for and the food was incredible.
Wedding Coordinator: Dairing Events. Adair was one of the best decisions I made. Originally I thought I did not need a coordinator because I was doing most of the planning on my own. I would have been terribly wrong. Adair worked the entire day to make sure everything went smoothly and stress-free. I know our wedding day would not have been as perfect as it was if it was not for Adair.
Photographer: Tonya Beaver Photography J There is not enough great things I can say about Tonya. She was able to capture our day exactly how we want to remember it for many, many years to come.
Florist: Bold Blooms in Green Cove Springs, Florida. Valerie was a hidden treasure! I went to Clay High School and passed this family owned florist shop many times. I knew when I got engaged I wanted to meet with her. My flowers were beautiful and she was so reasonably priced. I explained what I wanted and her execution went beyond what I could have imaged.
Officiant: family friend Pam Williams
Hair: family friend Kathy Batzleff
Make-up: Ruthless Beauty. Jill made me look and feel like the most beautiful bride. She is so professional and such a sweet person. It was a joy to have her do my makeup on such an important day.
Entertainment: McGee Entertainment. Milton was great and he kept everyone on the dance floor. After the wedding I had multiple wedding guest tell me “Your DJ rocked !”
Transportation: Bon Vonage Transportation in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. We wanted to have a getaway car and we found Bon Vonage on Tonya’s blog from a past bride! They were right on time and even had a basket of snacks and wine waiting for us in the car.

Bridesmaids Dresses: Alfred Sung dresses from Michael’s Formalwear
Groom and Groomsmen Wear: Michael’s Formalwear
How did you two meet? One of my sorority sisters was also one of Chris’s co-workers. We both attended her birthday dinner at Twisted Sister in Jacksonville Beach(which is no longer in existence). At dinner we ended up sitting across from each other. We ended up talking the whole evening and at the end the song “Apache” came on and we both started to do the dance. That is how is all began
How did he propose? Chris proposed on my birthday in November 2010. Since it was my birthday Chris had planned to take my to my favorite place for Sunday Brunch, The Casa Marina Hotel in Jacksonville Beach. Chris seemed very nervous throughout the meal and then half way through it he asked if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach. I am usually up for anything but it was the end of November and cold outside. So I declined not knowing what he had planned. A few minutes later Chris got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said “yes!” We had to leave right away because we had a house full of our family and friends to celebrate.
How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake? The color scheme was one of the easiest decisions we had to make. We were getting married on St. Patrick’s Day so of course we picked green. I love pink flowers and thought it would be a great accent to the green. Also, pink and green just seem perfect colors for a spring wedding.
After the Wedding …
Where did you go for your honeymoon? We spent a week in Ocho Rios, Jamaica in the all-inclusive Couples Resort.
If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be?
Relax and do not sweat the small stuff. During the wedding planning process I would let little things stress me out. I am happy I had Chris to keep me calm and remind me to enjoy the whole experience. Enjoy every moment during this time in your life because it goes by fast.
