Before the Wedding …
How did you two meet?
Christian and I met when we were 15 and 16. We met at Starbucks in Valdosta, GA. Although little did we both know was that Starbucks would become a bigger part of our lives. We carried on as friends for years and out of the blue one day Christian messaged me on Facebook. We exchanged numbers and hung out a few times here and there. Before we both knew it we liked each other and things blossomed from there. We dated for four years before getting married. Within those four years he worked at Starbucks for a year and I still work there. We’ll be coffee lovers until the end.
How did he propose?
I have an addiction to Disney that Christian knew from the start. While on one of our trips to Disney we went to Epcot. Christian had never been and I had only been once. It got late in the night and the fireworks were about to start. Christian and I met up with someone that allowed us access on to the boat dock where the Friendship Boat is. During the finale of the fireworks Christian got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake?
For my colors I knew I wanted a pink. I wanted a fall wedding so I decided on a more muted pink with a touch of salmon here and there. I chose to do nudes and basics for all of my other colors to go with my theme.
I’ve never been a huge flower person but I love simple flowers. I chose hydrangeas because they can easily be placed just about anywhere. I chose baby’s breath as well for its simple form. I decided to throw a few white roses in with a few pink ones as well.
I decided on cupcakes because we don’t eat a lot of cake. We chose simple white cupcakes with a swirled rose on top. We chose the traditional vanilla and butter cupcakes with almond frosting. We had one cake for ourselves, which was swirled with the roses. Christian’s groom cake was a recipe from his grandmother who passed away. He of course had his cake in the shape of a snare drum.
How did you decide on your invitations, and who did you use?
As like most of my decisions I wanted a simple yet rustic look for my invitations. I chose to use Kraft paper for the envelopes and a cream color for the invitation itself. I designed my invitations myself with some help from Christian.
