Christine and Steven’s wedding day {Slammer and Squire wedding at world golf village}

How did you two meet?
We met at church (Melody). We were friends for about 2 years then dated for 7 years.

How did he propose?
For our 7 year anniversary he took me to St. Augustine for the day. We walked around old st. Augustine, went to the beach, and he wanted to end the day at the Light House around sunset. I had no idea he rented the light house for an hour. So when we got there we walked what felt like a million steps up to the top. When we got to the top the sight was just amazing. So we started to walk around at the top when I saw our friends Shane and Kirstie and Steven’s mom with her camera. Shane and Kirstie started to play the guitar and sing Cant Take My Eyes off You as soon as I walked around. Then I turned to see Steven on his knee and his proposal was so sweet and amazing. I said YES!!!

How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake?
Color: Choosing our color scheme was the easy part, I bought my wedding shoes first before anything and loved the color so much I wanted our wedding that color. (Marine blue) So while planning the wedding I took those shoes everywhere I went.
Flowers: I chose my 3 favorite flowers, Calla lily, hydrangea, and white roses.
Cake: choosing the cake was a little more difficult when we both don’t care for cake other than funfetti cake. So we had Publix make a small simple funfetti cake and then we got their desert trays, So that our guest would have a variety. It all turned out so good.
After the Wedding …

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We stayed at a Marriot Resort in Stuart near Stevens work for a week. He had to go back to work. But we are planning on a trip in December for a week, then in January going on a Cruise to the Bahamas with our friends who bought us the cruise for a wedding gift. So our honeymoon is being broke down into small trips here and there because of work.

If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be?
It would be to hire a wedding planner. I chose not to because of wanting to save money and I had the time while not working. But what I didn’t realize is that on wedding day I wouldn’t be able to make sure everything is going good or telling people what I want done. I had to be getting ready to walk down the aisle. So if you are trying to save money and do all the planning yourself I would hire a day of coordinator who will make everything go smoothly so you don’t have to worry.
