Jennifer and Mark are married! A Plains, Georgia wedding

This was a really special wedding for me to shoot b/c Jennifer is my cousin!  Jennifer and Mark have been together since…well, forever.  And finally in November, they tied the knot.  Their wedding was very country/cotton field/DYI/Perfection.  A lot of the aunts, friends and family all pulled together to make their decor and setup amazing.  They decided to get married in Plains, Georgia…home of Jimmy Carter.  It’s a small town near where they are from and painted the picture perfect setting for their special day.

They really had a beautiful wedding day, and it was a genuinely amazing time getting to see them FINALLY get married. =)

I love you guys with all my heart.  I wish you a lifetime of good times and laughs.

xoxoxo

(PS – A huge thank you goes out to one of my other cousins, Amy, who second shot for me.  She was awesome!)

Even from the very start of this day, these girls were having so much fun!

Was TOTALLY STOKED to shoot in a cotton field!

How did you two meet?

  • We have known each other since 3rd grade and have been friends since but we began dating the summer before our junior year of high school. It all started when I liked him and he said he didn’t like me and then we began to hang out together all the time and finally on June 2 of 2004 he asked me out and been together ever since!

How did he propose?

  • It was our 6 year anniversary and we were about to go meet my brother and sister n law to go see Twilight: Eclipse. He had told me to come to his house early because he had a surprise. He took me to the dirt road where we had our first kiss and set up my tripod and camera so we could get a picture at the special place. When I went to get beside him after setting the self timer he kneeled down and proposed! I love photography so he had planned to capture the moment which is the greatest thing because I can look at the picture of that moment anytime I want!

How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake?

  • Purple is my favorite color so I knew I wanted it involved but then I love sunflowers! Since it was fall I decided to dark purple dresses and bright yellow sunflowers and orange roses. I added the brown in by having the girls wear their cowgirl boots which was one of my favorite things!

If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be?

  • To not stress because it is going to happen no matter what goes wrong or right! I went by this and it really helped me to enjoy my day rather than it just rushing by me and me not remembering anything!!
