I just don’t even know where to begin with this blog post. Jess, Josh, and I have had some really great times over the last year and a half that we’ve gotten to know each other. Of course it’s mainly been me and Jess, BUT Josh has given us lots of great times as well. hehe I’ve got to say that when I first met Jess, I thought she might be a little coo coo. We were in the wedding planning stages together, and she informed me that she was calling all of her potential bridesmaids to her home that evening. She was going to ask them if they would like to participate in her wedding and if so, they were to sign a contract agreeing to this, that, and the other. I thought, “oh wow, this is going to be interesting!” No joke. It has been…but it the best way possible. Jess is such a sweet, tender woman. She’s joyful and happy but can definitely hold her on. So don’t cross her. (I witnessed what happened when someone got too close to them during a choreographed dance! We don’t want to go there). And Josh, wow, I’m literally teary writing this. The stories Jess tells me about him makes your heart melt. She describes how they met later in the blog post so I’ll leave that story to her. But she was over here last week chatting with me, and it was around the time that school was starting. She and her daughter had come home to a bouquet of flowers for each of them….one for the daughter starting school and one for Jess “just because”. Now that’s a gentleman that knows how to treat his lady. Right?
Okay so here are some sneaks of their beautiful wedding day. Hope you enjoy. Jess and Josh (and Shelby of course), thank you for letting us be apart of your wedding day. I have truly enjoyed getting to know you. I love you guys, and I pray for many more years of happiness for you as your little family grows.
And also a special thanks to Vince Pierce for being my second shooter while April was out of town. I sent him off to do the getting ready shots of the guys, and he definitely came back with “guy” shots. =)
How did you two meet?
We were new neighbors. I locked my keys inside the house and was stuck outside. When Josh got home he noticed me sitting there and invited me in for dinner. We were inseparable after that! =)
How did he propose?
He was working the oil spill in Alabama for 6 weeks. He came home and surprised me on my b-day weekend. He was going to propose on my b-day but he didn’t because he thought I knew about it (I did!) Instead, he waited til the day after. =) It was very sweet!
How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake?
Black & White with a hint of Fushia! I went back and forth between that and just doing a ton of deep colors but every time I envisioned the day, my girls were in black, sassy dresses with some fushia! I love the way it turned out.

After the Wedding…
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
We went on a Carnival Cruise to the Florida Keys and the Bahamas. It was absolutely wonderful. I couldn’t be happier with our experience.
If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be?
A Wedding Planner! At least the day of!
