Jessica and Matt are married!!! A Ponte Vedra Inn and Club wedding

I met Jessica and Matt last year, and I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of their wedding.  They both have personalities that are so tender and sweet, and I am honored to have had the opportunity to get to know them better.  When I think back on each wedding, there is always one thing that stands out to me.  Theirs was family.  From the moment I arrived to the second we left, Jessica and Matt were surrounded by people that were emotionally invested in them…not just bystanders or guests, but people who wanted to be near them and people that shared tears with them…all day.  If you follow my blog, you’ll see a recurring theme with what I say…which is, it’s not about the perfect wedding cake, shoes, or veil that makes a lovely wedding.  But it’s sharing the love you have with your new husband or wife and having your family surround you in such a special time to celebrate.  And to me, THAT’S what makes a successful wedding day.  And that’s exactly what Jessica and Matt got to experience.

I think you two are amazing, and I know you will share a beautiful lifetime together.  THANK YOU for letting me document your PERFECT day.

Wedding day details:
Rehearsal Dinner Location: TPC Sawgrass- Chris Huffman is amazing to work with and the location is incredible. Both families love golf so this was a cool place to visit for many guests. The food is delicious too!
Ceremony Location: Lodge and Club at Ponte Vedra- I knew when I first visited this venue that it was the “One” for Matt and I. Not only is it on the ocean, but the facility is absolutely gorgeous. Both of our families are from out of state so we wanted to have the perfect backdrop for a mini vacation for everyone.
Reception Location: Lodge and Club at Ponte Vedra
Caterer: Lodge and Club at Ponte Vedra
Wedding Coordinator: Nicole Wessling with The Lodge and Club at Ponte Vedra-Such a pleasure to work with and one of the main reasons I did not stress the day of the wedding. Nicole’s organization and leadership led to a flawless wedding ceremony and reception.
Photographer: Tonya Beaver- Without a doubt, the best decision we made! Not only does Tonya have a God-given talent to take amazing pictures but you can really tell she loves what she does! From day 1 I have leaned on Tonya to get advice regarding vendors and just normal everyday stressors of a wedding. She is soooo much more than just a photographer!!!
Videographer: Michael Tolbert- Came highly recommended to us by a close friend and so glad we used him. He stayed until the very end and his work is incredible!
Cake: Classic Cakes
Florist: Kelley’s Bloom Room- Very creative and great work. She will also work around your budget which is very helpful.
Officiant: Bill Hughes – Close family friend
Hair: Cortello Salon  – This salon is amazing!! Everyone’s hair looked fabulous and we had such a blast drinking mimosas while getting our hair done. They have a separate room just for bridal parties which is great for large parties such as ours.
Make-up: Mandy Rupp extremely talented and fun to work with. Could not have asked for anything more!!
Entertainment: DJ Thundercat – Recommended to us by Tonya and so glad he was our DJ. He literally kept the party going until the very end and everyone at the wedding kept saying how much fun he was. Dan was very professional and extremely organized which made this part so easy!
Transportation: East Coast Transportation
Wedding Dress: Love Bridal Boutique in Jacksonville Beach- A phenomenal experience!
Bridesmaids Dresses: Alfred Angelo
Groom and Groomsmen Wear: Jos A. Bank

Before the wedding…

How did you two meet? We met at the gym at 5:30 in the morning. I had just moved to Jacksonville after graduating college from Auburn. I was in no way looking to date anyone. Little did I know I would meet my prince charming at the gym, after literally rolling out of bed and throwing on a hat with no make-up on what-so-ever! Now that’s true love!

How did he propose?  He surprised me on the first night of our cruise to the Caribbean by getting down on one knee at sunset and asking me to marry him.  It was an absolutely perfect day!

How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake?

Matt and I both love the beach so we chose the starfish to use as inspiration. However, we still wanted the look and feel to be sleek and elegant. Since it was a spring wedding, we chose the colors coral, chocolate brown, and apple green. I chose to use gerbera daisies because that is my mom’s favorite flower and I always think of her when I see them. Most of choices for the ceremony and reception we made had to do with special things, events, and people in our lives.

After the Wedding …

Where did you go for your honeymoon?
Montego Bay, Jamaica- Sandals Resort- We had a blast and are already planning our anniversary trip next year!
If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be?
Everything will fall into place and it’s not worth the stress for everything to be perfect. Really try to sit back and enjoy your wedding day because this will be the only time in your life when everyone close to you will be in the same room celebrating.
