How did you two meet? At a mutual friend’s going away party at Firkin & Kegler in Orlando, FL. He invited me & a girlfriend to go sailing.
How did he propose? Versailles, France – Chuck’s words: With a deadline to propose before dinner in Paris with the future in-laws and with both of us being sick, the proposal was delayed upon finding out Marisa’s father was hospitalized while travelling in France on his own vacation. Finally, after learning he was beginning to recover and having a relaxing day enjoying each other’s company while touring the palaces and gardens of Versailles, I proposed to Marisa in the back gardens of Versailles in Marie Antoinette’s Estate near the Petit Trianon with the Temple de l’Amour in the background. I was so nervous I forgot to pull out the ring that I’d been toting around Paris in my pocket for 5 days. I’m still amazed she said yes!
(It was so sweet, he was acting all crazy and kept being annoyed at the people for hogging all the private benches…) :o)
How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake? I love those colors together, blue, silver & white and blue is my favorite color. We both love nature, so more “rustic” flowers appealed to us. We both love mint & swirly bits, hence the cake.
How did you decide on your invitations, and who did you use? It was a struggle finding one that my mom approved of, I wanted her to be involved of course, but we ended up with a simple, flowy design with those swirly bits I like so much. We used “By Invitation Only” in Merritt Island and they were very lovely to work with although we had some problems with the mailing.
Where did you go for your honeymoon? Still waiting on that since Chuck was deemed medically unable to travel during the wedding (bulging disk in back), but in May we will be going to Europe to tour Italy, take a cruise (Italy/Greece/Turkey), and then finish with a few days in Austria.
If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be? Elope! ;o) Just kidding, I really meant to have fun.
