Rosie + Tony Wedding Photos

I’ve known Rosie since high school, and I was THRILLED when asked to shoot her wedding.  It was an awesome experience seeing she and Tony together.  I honestly have never seen her so happy.  These two are so lucky to have each other. =)

They got married and had their reception at Honey Lake Plantation which is one of the most GORGEOUS venues in North Florida (I think).  Unfortunately it rained pretty well most the day and night so we were limited to online inside pictures.

BUT the venue is so pretty inside as it is out.  So it didn’t really matter. Rosie and Tony, thanks so much for letting me be there on your special today.  I loved getting to document it for you. It was an honor and privilege!!!

xoxo

At Honey Lake Plantation and lots of help from my sister-in-law, Dennille, and our friend Abbie.

Photographer: Tonya Beaver Photography of course!

She was amazing as always! She captured all the moments that made our wedding so special and full of love. She just knows what to look for and always gets the pictures that speak a thousand words.

Videographer: Siberian Pictures

John was great!

Cake:  The Cake Shop in Tallahassee, Florida.

Steve is amazing and his cakes are delicious and beautiful!

Florist: Celebrations in Live Oak, Florida.

Nelda Croft has been a family friend for years and she met with me several times for hours at a time to go over all the details to make sure everything was perfect for my wedding. The centerpieces she created for the reception were beyond what I dreamed of. I was blown away by her talent!

Officiate:  Reverend Donald Woodrum (Father Don) and Reverend George Hinchcliffe (Father George).

They are my priests at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Live Oak, Florida. I have known Father Don for years. His sons and I are friends and I grew up around Father Don. Many of our guests said our wedding was one of the most spiritual weddings they had been too, which meant a lot to me and Tony.

Hair: Ashley Prevatt.

She did my hair for my sister-in-law’s wedding to my brother and I loved it. She is amazing! My hair was pulled partially up and curled. I don’t know how Ashley did it but my hair looked natural and didn’t fall all night. It rained on our wedding day and it was a hot and humid July day but my hair looked great all night thanks to Ashley!

Make-up: Yours truly! Entertainment:  The Motowners.

Derrick Hadley is the band leader and he was amazing to work with. The entire band did an amazing job singing Motown music mixed with some more contemporary numbers. The dance floor was packed all night!

Transportation: We rented a white 1960 Rolls Royce from Classic Limos out of Tallahassee, Florida.

Wedding Dress:  Essence of Australia was the Designer. It was purchased at Solutions Bridal in Gainesville, Florida.

Wedding Shoes: Badgley Mischka

Bridesmaids Dresses:  Solutions Bridal

Groom and Groomsmen Wear:  Jim’s Formal Wear

Before the Wedding …

How did you two meet?

I knew of Tony for years because he was a family friend but really didn’t get to know him until we started working together in late 2009. In the fall of 2012, my dad suggested to Tony that he ask me on a date. I was really embarrassed at first because I worried that Tony might not want to go out with me but was just doing it because my daddy suggested it!

A long week later, Tony finally asked if I would like to go see Finding Nemo in 3D with him and his five year old son, Noah. I said yes and the three of us had a great time. Tony and I continued to date and get to know each other that fall.

How did he propose?

I came over to Tony’s house and my first clue that something was up was that he and Noah were wearing very similar outfits. Motown music was playing in the house which is our favorite music. Noah led me into the dining room where Tony had a catered meal prepared of my favorite foods.

After Noah said the prayer, he said his daddy had something he wanted to ask me and Tony got down on one knee with Noah standing beside him and asked me to marry him. I cried like crazy! Noah looked at me like he wasn’t sure if my reaction was good. I reassured him that they were very happy tears.

How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake?

Color Scheme and Flowers-

I wanted to keep the color scheme simple and classic so we went with ivory flowers, table cloths, and some gold and black accents here and there.

Cake:

I love wedding cakes so I knew I wanted a big one with lots of layers and simple vanilla cake with vanilla icing. It was delicious! Tony is a huge chocolate lover so his groom cake was chocolate cake with chocolate icing and was covered with Swiss cake rolls, nutty bars, and brownies. It was a huge hit at the wedding!

How did you decide on your invitations, and who did you use?

We wanted them to be traditional. They were ivory with black script in a pocket with a black band around the outside. My friend Abbie designed the invitations.

After the Wedding …

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

Bermuda!

If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be?

Honestly, nothing. I enjoyed every minute of my wedding!
