How did you meet?

We met our sophomore year at Dartmouth at the end of fall term final exams. We had mutual friends who introduced us and immediately hit it off. Sarah was studying abroad in Barcelona that winter while Matt was on campus, but distance made the heart grow fonder. The rest is history!

How did Matt propose?

Matt proposed in Jacksonville Beach in May 2017. He planned the perfect day – brunch at one of our favorite restaurants, riding bikes, surprising me with my mom and our dog Georgia, and meeting some of our friends to celebrate! Tonya was there to capture the whole thing which made it even more special!

Anything you want to say about planning a wedding?

Always remember why you’re doing things. Don’t feel like you “need” to do things or “have” to do things just because others have or it is tradition. The day is about you and your soon-to-be spouse, so do things that have meaning to you and will make you happy!

Explain in your words what it was like having the Engagement session done?

We had so much fun at our engagement session! It was great practice for the “big day” – Sarah got over her fear of making weird faces (even though I made a few) and Matt rehearsed keeping his shoulders back! We did it after being engaged for over a year, which we both think made it more fun and gave us a reason to keep celebrating our engagement! Thank you Tonya!
