Nicole and John’s Wedding! – Slammer and Squire, World Golf Village

Nicole and John couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding.  They had the perfect weather!  Perfect Venue!  All of their friends and family were totally stoked for the day!  Just PERFECT.  Nicole and John were married and celebrated their reception at the Slammer and Squire (which of course I’m very partial to and LOVE).  They took their vows out near the golf course as the sun was setting behind them.  After a few quick photos, we started the celebration.  With so many Greek and Italian traditions, this was definitely a night to remember…for everyone!

Thank you to Nicole and John…and their friends and family for having us at such an important day.  =) I do believe we had just as much fun as you all did!

Their Wedding Details!

How did you two meet? John and I met each other our last year at UNF and soon became inseparable.

How did he propose? John and I love to take little long weekend vacations to fun spots that we
enjoy. So when John wanted to take me on an impromptu trip to the Atlanta Aquarium to visit with his nieces

I thought nothing of it. While enjoying the perfectness of the day and the weather in Olympic Centennial Park
I turned around to find John on one knee and I was so happy and of course said yes! I soon found out that John
had planned the weekend for us spend alone and as a surprise to propose. We had been together for about a
year and a half. After a 13 month engagement and more than 9 months apart, while John worked at a refinery
in Texas. We got to celebrate our perfect wedding day at the Slammer and Squire World Golf Village on October 22, 2011.

How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake? John and I love the Fall in Florida.
The weather just seems so perfect for an outdoor wedding at that time of year. When it came to
choosing color schemes I just assumed that I would want the main Fall colors that came to my
mind…ivory, chocolate brown and pumpkin orange. So we set out with those colors in mind. It was
only a couple months into planning, that I found myself thinking “if I could do it all again, I sure would
love to have used beautiful purple flowers.” So with that thought, John and I decided to go for the
PURPLE. We loved it! I found my bridemaids dresses soon after and fell in love with the latte color so
much, and thought that ivory, latte and plum would be beautiful together for our special day. So, my
advice to any new bride is to sit down and think about what you really want. And if you think initially
you want one thing, and end up changing your mind and want another that’s OK! Go for what you
really want. That’s what we did and we could not be happier that we chose to go with purple. Once
we decided to go with purple for the flowers it was easy to fall in love with all of the options available
for that time of year. We did mixed centerpieces and utilized just about every purple flower available
in October. When we thought about cake, John and I both knew right away we wanted cupcakes.
We LOVE cupcakes! And it just seemed right to have them to share with our guests at our wedding.
So, we chose Publix because their location was excellent, right next to the venue, they were priced
reasonably and because we knew they would taste GREAT! We were so happy with how our color
scheme, flowers and cake turned out on our special day!

ran smoothly and stayed on track! His email is and his phone is 904-

After the Wedding …

Where did you go for your honeymoon? For our honeymoon we went to the most wonderful places
in Hawaii. We stayed on Oahu and spent time in Kauai and Waikiki beach too! SO BEAUTIFUL!

If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be?
Remember to SMILE! It was so easy to get caught up in some of the stresses of the day and yet on that
special day you have so many wonderful people surrounding you and wanting you to be so happy. So
just sit back, and SMILE and know that you’ve done all you can to plan for such an amazing day and
you finally get to enjoy it with your HUSBAND… take it all in.
