How did you two meet?

We met through one of my best friends, Avery Crapps. I think she was worried that I was single in Lake City and happened to know that AJ was single in Live Oak. However, Avery now lives in California so setting us up wouldn’t be quite as easy as it would be if she lived her. She made the introduction to each of us via Facebook. AJ and I set up a date and the rest history.

How did he propose?

At my house. I had been in Jacksonville shopping all day and little did I know he was anxiously waiting for me to get home. My sister kept calling and calling asking when I was coming home and what was I doing. I just figured she wanted to do something that night. So when I finally got home, I opened the garage and walked inside and gasp because I could see someone out of the corner of my eye and I thought I was about to be murdered. Lucky for me, it was AJ on his knee holding out a ring. He has left his car at my sister’s house so I wouldn’t know he was there. He has plans to video the whole proposal but feel asleep waiting for me for so long. So he was super frazzled and out of it when I walked in the door and I was super scared! I went from thinking I was going to be murdered to getting engaged! About 45 seconds post proposal, in comes my sister with champagne. She had been driving around in my neighborhood waiting for the call to say it had happened!

How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake?

Once we decided on a New Year’s event, we knew we wanted it to be more of a party look and feel. I met with Amy Francis with Francis Event and Design and told her a few ideas what I was thinking and she made it happen. Honestly, I did not know what my flowers were until I asked her the day before the wedding. I trusted her taste and ability and I was blown away with the end result.
