LISA + BRAD WEDDING DAY PHOTOS
I was scrolling through my instagram yesterday and noticed Lisa posted her wedding photos with a celebratory caption of EIGHT years of marriage. Congrats Lisa and Brad on those 8 years. And I do have to admit these are some of my favorite wedding photos I’ve ever taken.
I think Lisa is like a model, Brad is so handsome, and Honeylake was one of my favorite wedding venues. Honeylake was a venue out between Lake City and Tallahassee. As far as I know it was property that someone purchased as a hunting land that had a gorgeous clubhouse and guesthouses. I think it allowed for weddings a few years, but from what I understand now they are no longer taking wedding.
New owners maybe? I’m not sure. BUT, it was seriously one of the most beautiful places to photograph…ever. I wish we had one exactly like this in Jacksonville Florida. We do have some beautiful wedding venues in Jacksonville so no complaints =)
Hope you enjoy these wedding photos. As always, if you would like to see more of my wedding photos, the link is below:

How did you two meet?
9/25/2010 – It was a typical Saturday in Atlanta, GA when Brad and I first met. He had come up from Columbus for the weekend to go to the Georgia Tech vs. NC State football game with a bunch of his friends. I just so happen to be at the same game with my friends. We were only a 2 sections away from each other, but never crossed paths.
Later that night I continued my sports filled day by going to the Thrashers hockey game with some friends. Our conversations were full of “I don’t need a boyfriend” “I have no time for a boyfriend” which makes this story even funnier.
Afterwards, my friends and I all decided to go to East Andrews not knowing Brad and his friends would also be there. Very early on, I spotted this tall ginger from across the room who was wearing a white button up shirt…I knew I had to talk with him. Approaching a guy is something I have never done, but my gut was telling me I needed to introduce myself. Of course, I chickened out and by the end of the night I thought I missed my chance. Little did I know, he was still at East Andrews looking for the blonde headed girl who kept staring at him all night =).
FINALLY, we spotted each other! As he began walking near me, my friend thought I might blow my chance again so she grabbed Brad’s arm and introduced us. After about 30 minutes of talking, Brad asked me to brunch the next day. I would typically never go out with a stranger, but again my gut was telling me SAY YES! So I cautiously decided to take him up on his offer. It was about midway through our brunch that I realized I was going to marry him. I even texted my sister jokingly to let her know I met my future husband….the rest is history!
How did he propose?
Brad and I were in Savannah, GA visiting friends over the Halloween weekend for this exciting day! We had planned the trip months in advance so I wasn’t expecting any surprises – I had a feeling he was going to propose sometime after the Christmas holiday. We had literally just started looking at engagement rings just 3 weeks before! While we were in Savannah, Brad thought it would be fun to take me to the beach where he and his friends would surf during his 6 months of stay in Savannah for work.
It was a cold/windy day so the sightseeing got old quick, but I kept a smiling face because I knew Brad was excited to show me around. It was around 5PM when we took a walk on the beach and Brad began to say things that weren’t making sense. I could tell he was getting nervous all of the sudden…his heart was beating out of his chest. It was at that point I knew he was about to get down on one knee. This was by far the best day or our lives! To top it off, Brad had his friend Jason (who was also there the night we met) hide in a lifeguard tower to capture every moment.
How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake?
Color – At first I wanted to keep the colors really clean and only use grey and white…more so because I was scared to use a color I’d hate 10 years down the road when looking at my wedding pictures. After a while, I realized I needed to add my personality to the wedding so I decided to go with my favorite color, yellow, which luckily is a perfect match to grey!
Flowers – I chose white hydrangeas mainly because they were a great complement to the wedding venue, cost efficient, and added to the clean look I was going for.
Cake – The wedding cake was probably the item I was least worried about figuring out. There were a few decorative styles I liked, but after I saw a picture on your Pintrest page I feel in love with this particular cake and knew that was what I wanted. It had such a clean look and I knew it would fit in with the rest of the wedding vibe.
After the Wedding …
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
Secret’s Maroma Beach Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico
If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be?
I can’t expect everything to be perfect. Regardless of how much planning I do, nothing will be exactly as I want it.
