Before the Wedding …

How did you two meet?

We met when we first moved to Jacksonville in 2012 to join the Teach for America Corps.

How did he propose?

Jonathan set up a photo shoot for my roommate and I, but he secretly planned on proposing during the photo shoot. He got in the picture in front of the river at Memorial Park and proposed.

How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake?

I just love blush and gold colors and he loves Star Wars!

How did you decide on your invitations, and who did you use?

Minted. The tree on the tree was commemorative of the tree that we were married under at The Ribault Club.

What was the most fun part of wedding planning?

Tasting the food! Planning the honeymoon.

Which part did you not like as much?

Working with the wedding planner was super stressful.

After the Wedding …

What was the high point of your wedding day that you hope to remember forever?

Jonathan crying when he first saw me. I will never forget that. The ceremony was by far my favorite part. I truly had never felt happier in my life, and I know Jonathan felt the same way. My cousin Hailey surprising us with singing a beautiful song at our reception. Dancing with our friends and family. Jonathan’s family was so much fun on the dance floor! I loved that they asked the DJ to play latin music to really bring in the traditions from his family. My whole family can’t stop talking about how fun that was.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We went to Secrets Maroma Beach in Riviera Maya, Mexico. It was amazing and perfect and we LOVED it!
