Oh sweet Eden and Alex. They are just too adorable. They brought one of Eden’s bridesmaids to our initial meeting, and I do believe we all sat and talked for about 3 hours. It was so much fun getting to know them. They chose to have their wedding and reception at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL where Eden works.

It was absolutely beautiful…from start to finish! Congrats you two!

How did you two meet?

We met our senior high school through mutual friends. It was truly love at first sight and we have been inseparable every since.

How did he propose?

Alex was out of town and he was not supposed to get back until late that night. Little did I know, he had left first thing that morning to go pick up the ring. Through some trickery by my mom, she got me to Cummer Museum. When we walked inside, the lady at the front was expecting me.

She guided me to the gardens that were on the water and overlooked Downtown Jacksonville, FL. That is when I saw Alex. At this point, I had a feeling what was coming. Alex was so nervous he could barely talk. The first thing he did was give me a key chain. When we first started dating, the first gift I ever got him was a key chain that had the date that he scored 1,000 points in high school basketball.

He has always told me that was his favorite gift I have ever gotten him. So he got me a key chain that said forever on one side, and the date of our engagement on the other side. It was a way for me to always remember this special day. (SO CUTE) Then he got down on one knee and proposed!!! And of course I said YES!!

How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake?

Color scheme:

I knew we were getting married close to Christmas, and that the clubhouse would be decorated. I really wanted the wedding to feel rustic, elegant, and to be romantic, but also blend well with Christmas colors. So I chose burgundy for the main color, with accents of taupe and ivory. It was the perfect color scheme for the time of year and the location.

Flowers:

For flowers, I let Tiff at Floriade do what she does best! I told her my colors and the look I was going for, and let her use her creativity to make it look beautiful.

Cake:

As for the cake, Alex and I love chocolate! (A LOT) So we knew we wanted all chocolate, and that is exactly what we got. It was delicious! I also knew I wanted some color on the cake, so we had burgundy flowers on it.

Ceremony Location: The lawn at TPC Sawgrass

It was FREEZING on our wedding day, but it was worth it because the location was beautiful.

I highly recommend him – we were on the dance floor the entire night and he did a great job!

The dress was by Lazaro and it was FREE! Long story, but my best friend Claire was able to get a sample gown off the rack and she picked it out for me. It was perfect!

After the Wedding …

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We are going to start in San Diego and drive up the coast of California. Our first stop is a night in Santa Barbara, and then we go to San Francisco for two nights, and Napa for three nights.

If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be?

Our planning went really smoothly, but I would say to keep in mind what is most important to you and don’t stress over the small stuff. I knew photography was the most important thing for me… I hired Tonya before I even had a venue locked down! But I knew she was the first priority, and everything else fell into place.
