Jess and her mom came to meet with me sometime last year about photographing her upcoming wedding. She told me that she was going to be working very hard to lose some weight before her big day. Well of course we all say that as we’re planning our wedding day, but she really meant it. For valentines day I ran a special on boudoir sessions, and she told me she was so excited to do a sesh like this, but that she was going to wait until she dropped a few more pounds. Well that she did! In total she’s lost OVER 5o pounds!!!! I am so proud of her.
For the session, she had her sis come do her makeup (which was SO HOT), and she picked out several outfits that we could play around with. It was a day of dress up, makeovers, loud music, and some wine. We had a total girl day, and it was SO much fun!
Rarely do we share boudoir sessions. They are of course private for the man whom intended for. But Jess has an amazing story, and we’re all too proud not to share.
So here’s her story:
“I learned from an early age that the easiest way to comfort yourself was through food. It’s always there when you “need” it! It took about 9 years, but I had officially gained 101lbs from the weight I was at age 18. I never saw myself as fat or gross but I knew I was VERY unhappy with my weight. I always remember hearing the saying, ” A moment on your lips, forever on your hips!” But for some reason it didn’t “click” in my head! I also remember haring the bible verse, Psalm 37:4 “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart!” So… I figured that if I involve Jesus and pray for him to give the willingness to eat right and exercise it has to work! And it has! I have stuck to my food plan of 3 meals a day. No sugary foods. 2-3 healthy starches per day. Lots of fruit & veggies! I go to the gym 3-4 times a weeks. Lots of cardio! I ran my first 5K a couple months ago! It feels so good! I had to buy a new wedding dress!!! Also, to see myself in these amazing boudoir photos is the best gift I could ever give myself! Much less, my future husband!”
So here is a “before” pic that we took at their e-sesh:
