Wedding Weekend Info (From Kaitlin and Chris):
How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers?
I never really had a vision of what I wanted my wedding to be like. I saw a flowy garden-like bridal bouquet online that I loved and decided to use shades of pinks and greens. I’m naturally drawn to vintage pieces as well. When I met with Tiffany from Liz Stewart Floral Design she really helped me come up with a concrete plan. I then met a woman,Shelly, who owns St. Augustine Paper Co. that helped me design invitations, place cards, table numbers, and signs that tied everything together perfectly.
What was the most fun part of wedding planning?
Flowers for me and food tasting for Chris 🙂 I feel like flowers make a venue your own and had a lot of fun planning that aspect. Food tasting with Molly from TPC was a breeze because everything there tastes great.
Which part did you not like as much?
I wanted a small wedding (less than 100 people). I wanted to be able to talk with all of our guest and make them feel welcome at our wedding. It was very difficult making a guest list.
Wedding weekend info:
Hotel Accommodations: Hilton Garden Inn Ponte Vedra
Rehearsal Dinner Location: Chris’s parents house
Ceremony Location: St. Pauls Catholic Church with Father Tony
Reception: TPC Sawgrass Sunset Room with cocktail hour on the lawn. All of the staff at TPC are wonderful.
Wedding Coordinator: None, however, Molly, the catering manager at TPC helped us tremendously and made us feel like we were her only wedding.
Photographer: Tonya Beaver! She kept us on track to ensure we were able to capture all the pictures we needed. Her attention to detail is top notch. I’m very type A and she understands my perfectionist side 🙂 Her assistant and 2nd shooter were great sports and kept us calm. Thank you!
Cake: Classic Cakes. They were so easy to work with and many of our guests said it was the best wedding cake!
Florist: Liz Stewart Floral Design. I cannot say enough great things about Tiffany! The flowers were worth the splurge and were my favorite part of our wedding! Every little detail was perfect.
She even made our Mr & Mrs. chair signs.
Hair/Makeup: Cortello Salon
Entertainment: DJ David from DJ Shane of Melbourne. Tonya recommended DJ Shane to me and only David was available on our day. I took the chance and booked him anyways (very unlike us). He was awesome!! Very polite & professional. Guests are even asking for his info for future parties!
Transportation: Dana Limo
Wedding dress: Love Bridal in Jacksonville Beach. I was measured incorrectly and ended up with a too small dress. After much stress, a seamstress was finally able to fix it 2 weeks before the wedding!
Bridesmaids Dresses: Jcrew with anthro necklaces
Groom & Groomsmen: Men’s Warehouse tuxes with Jcrew ties
How did you two meet?
We met working at the UNF gym. He came to one of my yoga classes and we ended up going on a few dates. We’ve been inseparable ever since!
How did he propose?
He suggested we go to Aunt Kate’s in St. Augustine for dinner one Friday after work. We ended up stopping at Guana Reserve. We went for a walk on the beach where he proposed. When we got to dinner our families were there waiting for us! I was surprised they were able to keep that a secret since I work full-time with my mom!
What was the high point of your wedding day that you hope to remember forever?
Our ceremony. Chris would not stop smiling and talking to me the whole mass 🙂 We were both excited and finally could relax. We were able to laugh at all the little things that were going wrong (example.. my veil falling off). At our reception, it was special to see our extended families since 95% of them live out of state.
If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be?
Don’t worry about every little detail and know that your vendors are there to help you!
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
A short cruise to the Bahamas.
