Lauren and Chris had a perfect wedding day. I can’t think of one even minor thing that went wrong. Their ceremony was beautiful (even though photographers are only allowed on the balcony…ouch!), and their friends and family knew how to have a great time during the reception.
As I was editing their photos, I remember seeing one photo of their first dance in particular where the full moon was above them. I thought, “Now who gets to have a full moon above their heads for their first dance on their wedding day!”. It sure made for some gorgeous skies…during the day and night.
Lauren and Chris, thank you so much for having me be a part of your beautiful wedding day. It was an honor. xoxoxo
Their wedding day details:
Rehearsal Dinner Location: Florida House Inn courtyard – amazing ambiance and delicious low-country shrimp boil!
Ceremony Location: Amelia Plantation Chapel
Reception Location: The Ocean Club
Caterer: The Ocean Club – the food was amazing! The chef did a wonderful job and exceeded our expectations. We got rave reviews from our guests.
Wedding Coordinator:
Photographer: Tonya Beaver – Tonya went above and beyond to make sure we got all the shots we wanted. I know we will treasure our photographs for a lifetime thanks to her hard work.
Videographer: Island Flowers– although we have not seen our wedding video yet, we are so thankful we decided to hire a videographer. It was a last-minute decision that I am so glad we made. We can’t wait to watch and re-live our special day.
Cake: Publix – it turned out beautiful and tasted great! Edgewood Bakery did our Groom’s Cake.
Florist: Larry with Island Flowers – we were very pleased with the flowers! Larry did a wonderful job fulfilling our requests and having everything looking perfect ahead of time. Larry was so laid-back and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend him to any bride who does not want to stress over flowers!
Officiant: The Reverend Ted Schroder
Hair: Anthony at Magna’s Salon – he did a wonderful job!
Make-up: Anthony at Magna’s Salon – make-up was perfect!
Entertainment: Marisa – they were so much fun and learned special songs in advance that we wanted them to play
Transportation:
Wedding Dress: Bill Levkoff dresses
Bridesmaids Dresses: Bridals By Lori from Men’s Wearhouse in Atlanta (Bridesmaids received their dresses much later than expected and had little time for alterations – would not recommend)
Groom and Groomsmen Wear: Men’s Wearhouse – several of the guys’ tuxes did not fit right and they had to drive to Jacksonville to get different sizes – would not recommend
How did you two meet?
We met on while out with a group of friends to a comedy club celebrating my 24th birthday. We were seated at opposite ends of the table, but we kept stealing glances at each other throughout the night. Chris called a few days later, and we have been inseparable ever since!
How did he propose?
Chris proposed July 17, 2011 on the beach at Amelia Island. Chris planned a surprise trip to Amelia, and I thought we were going down to visit my new niece. As soon as we arrived, Chris wanted to take a walk on the beach. Once on the beach, we began looking for sharks’ teeth, and Chris pretended to find one. When I turned around to look, he was down on one knee! I happily said yes, and the rest is history!
How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake?
We wanted a classic, elegant look that would not go out of style, so we decided to go with tuxedos for the guys and simple black dresses for the girls. Our flowers were white hydrangeas. Our accent colors were blues and greens to go along with the ocean theme.
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
Zoetry Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic – a tropical paradise! We can’t wait to go back one day! We were pampered with incredible food and drinks, horseback riding, massages, and more. Would highly recommend!
If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be? Relax, and take time to enjoy every bit of the process and soak it all in! Don’t sweat the small stuff – and it’s all small stuff!
