How did you two meet?  

Max and I met in college at USF in Tampa. We lived in the same apartment complex near the school. My roommates and I lived in the back of the complex and he lived near the front right by the pool.  It was the week before summer classes started and I had a ton of work to do because I had just been accepted into nursing school. 

My roommate Laura (a bridesmaid) made me go to a party with her in the complex and it was right next door to Max’s apartment. The party we went to was a bunch of fraternity boys who were way to into themselves so we walked next door to Max’s apartment where they had a group of people together and we really hit it off. I kept telling Max that entire week, “Okay this is the last time I’ll see you guys because I am starting nursing school”…. But I wasn’t able to stay away!  4 and a half years later we got married =)

How did he propose?   

It was December 20, 2009 and I had just gotten out of work from my third 12 hour shift in a row and was leaving early in the morning to fly to Jacksonville Beach to do Christmas with my family.  We went to dinner at Carrabba’s (my favorite) and after dinner we walked out to his truck and right before I got in the truck he asked me to stand behind the truck and see if his tail light was out.

I went back there and was just waiting and waiting for him to turn the truck on so I could see. I could tell he was fumbling around in the truck and when he stepped out he looked like he was going to pass out. (At this point I knew what was happening).

Then he walked over to me and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.  That’s right… in the middle of the dark parking lot! LOL… Probably sounds not special or romantic but if you know Max… it was SOO Max and I loved it!! Of course I said yes!

How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake? 

Color Scheme:

I knew right away I wanted green to be my main color. Green is my favorite color and when we picked March 19, 2011 it was perfect spring color. Originally I thought we would do green with white and brown accents but changed it to green with black and white accents fairly early on.  I had a mainly green bouquet and the girls had mainly white bouquet.

Flowers:

As for the flowers, my favorite flowers are hydrangeas.  I met with the florist (Tiffany from Floriade) and told her my “vision” for white and green flowers and that I really liked round bouquets and loved hydrangeas and she took it from there.

Cake:

As for the cake, Max doesn’t like chocolate, or cake really in general so we went with a traditional white cake with buttercream raspberry icing on the top 2 tiers and white chocolate icing on the middle tier.  It was very yummy!

Your Special Day!

Rehearsal Dinner Location:  Maggiano’s Little Italy

It’s at the Town Center. The food was very delicious and they had a big banquet room which was nice because we were all together.

Ceremony Location:   St. Paul’s Catholic Church

St. Paul’s in JAcksonville Beach, FL. I grew up going to this church and attended Catholic school here so it was important to me to get married here as well. Also my parents were married in the same church.

Reception Location:  Atlantic Beach Country Club (Selva Marina Country Club)

We liked this venue because it was one big room so our guests could eat and dance all in the same room. The view was very nice and I liked how they had big windows so you could see outside.

Caterer:  Atlantic Beach Country Club (Selva Marina Country Club)

We had a buffet and it was very delicious. I wasn’t able to eat much on the actual wedding day due to nerves and wanting to visit with guests but we did get to come and taste the entire menu earlier in the year and it was very delicious.

She has done my hair since I was 8 years old and it was very special to have her doing my hair and my bridesmaids hair for my wedding day.

Entertainment:   DJ Thundercat

DJ Dan was amazing and really made the wedding reception the time of our lives! He is awesome and kept the party moving!

Transportation:   Dana’s Limousine

They have since gone out of business. I got the dress from CC’s Bridal Boutique in St. Petersburg, Florida. They were awesome.

After the Wedding …

Where did you go for your honeymoon? 

We went to Ochos Rios, Jamaica. We loved it! It was a ton of fun and very beautiful. We stated at Couples Resort San Souci.

If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be? 

I am not sure if I could give myself any advice I wasn’t already given. Everybody told me the same things, make sure to slow down and really take everything in. I attempted this several times but the day just moves so fast.

I would definitely make sure to have a videographer to capture all the moments you may not have or may not remember. Overall I had the time of my life! I have never danced and laughed so much! I cannot wait to see all my pictures and video!
