How did you two meet?

Craig and I met at a church in Georgia. I was doing some volunteer work on the tech team and he was the drummer in the band. We got to spend a good amount of time together each Sunday before the service started and developed a friendship.

That time eventually turned into lunches afterwards and get togethers outside of church. After two and a half years of friendship, something changed between us and our relationship grew into something more.

How did he propose?

Craig accepted a job in California last summer. He asked me to come over to his house one evening the week before he was getting ready to leave for training and move permanently to the west coast. We were discussing our future and I was crying and upset because I knew it would be several months before I would get the chance to see him again.

But in the middle of our conversation, Craig opened a ring box and asked me to marry him. I immediately stopped crying and had the biggest smile on my face!

How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake?

Color Scheme:

Our colors were purple and silver. Ever since I was a little girl, my favorite color has been purple. Craig has a favorite set of drums that are shiny purple.

So it was easy to choose since we both liked that color. I added the silver, because I haven’t seen many others use it as a wedding color, and I thought it would make an elegant color combination with the deep purple.

Flowers:

I worked with Liz at Liz Stewart Floral Design for the bouquets and boutonnieres. I found a picture that I liked for my bridal bouquet and emailed it to her. She made a replica and created my bridesmaid bouquet and groom/groomsmen boutonnieres out of similar flowers and colors. They turned out beautifully!

Cake:

For our cake, we used the Publix bakery. We have always loved the cakes from Publix and didn’t see the need to look anywhere else for our wedding.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We spent half of our honeymoon in Florida and the other half in California. We went to Disneyworld in Orlando and spent some time in Monterey Bay and Big Sur in California.

If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be?

Cherish every moment of the wedding and reception. The night will go by so quickly and will be over faster than you can imagine.
