Rachel + Shane Engagement Photos
This session is near to my heart because Shane has been a very dear friend of mine since childhood…well, teenage years (isn’t that still childhood?) I find myself making good friends in life now, but there’s something about the friendships you make when you go through certain periods of growing up that just make you closer.
And Shane is that type of friend. We don’t have to discuss life lessons or experiences…b/c we lived it out together. He’s also that type of friend that you wonder if he will EVER get married. I got married later in life, but Shane is upper 30’s and still couldn’t ever find the “right” girl so we just wondered if he would ever take the plunge.
Well, then came Rachel. Rachel is such a sweet girl, funny, doesn’t take life to seriously, and ultimately just perfect for my sweet friend. They compliment each other very well. All in all, we adore her.
For the photo session, Rachel hates taking photos, so we had to make it a “non” session. Which if you’ve ever been in shoot with me, I really try to make all my shoots just like we’re hanging out and I just happen to take photos. I’m not very formal of a person so photo shoots are really no different.
I happened to be visiting my parents so we decided for them to come hang out with us in the country, but we would spend 30 mins of golden hour light taking some pics. So that we did. I think for her being non picture person she did exceptionally well (not to mention she’s GORGEOUS and makes my job so easy!). But I would like to think it was my help of singing Ginuine’s “Pony” to her (how did that even come up?) not to mention a few other picture taking secrets I have. 😉
Finally to wrap up the shoot, we did a few family pics including Colton who is also just a doll and made the shoot perfection.
Wrapping up the night, my mom made low country boil, we had wine, and when you’re in the country you make s’mores. Oh and Colton found a box of fireworks in my mom’s kitchen (you would understand if you’ve ever walked inside my mom’s house) so we had to set off a few fireworks too.
All in all, a perfect evening celebrating this beautiful family to be. I’m honored with their friendship, and I’m overwhelmed to be able to document such a special time in life for them.
xoxo
