How did you two meet?

It all started in the hallways of building 600 at Bank of America. Elizabeth was working
as a Proof Operator and William (Jay) was working as a Team Manager in the department of
Documents and Fulfillments.

Elizabeth was attending UNF during the day and working at the bank at nights to pay for her tuition. After learning all day she never wanted to talk to anybody she saw walking up or down the hallways that passed her. She would pretend to be talking on the phone or texting so she didn’t have to speak. William on the other hand made it a point to speak to her EVERY DAY!

He managed all the downstairs hallway rooms so he was free to walk the halls and see Elizabeth come in everyday. She was supposed to be at work by 6:00. Some days she would be early and others she would be rushing in. It didn’t matter. William would always make it a point to stop her and say Hello or Hi. One day Elizabeth was not in the mood to talk to anybody or be spoken too, but like every other day
William spoke to her and this was the limit…Do I have to speak to you!!! Elizabeth asked
William…and William replied Yes you do!!!

Elizabeth’s first reaction was like who the heck does he think he is and then she was like
dang he is kinda cute. From that moment on Elizabeth replied to William’s hellos in the
hallway. They spent dinner breaks together and learned a lot about one another. They
started a friendship that lead to a relationship.

How did he propose?

One day during the week William called Elizabeth’s father to ask him for her hand in
marriage. He responded with he needed to speak to his wife before giving their blessings to
the marriage. The next day William received a call from Elizabeth’s dad and he stated that
William had their blessings to ask Elizabeth to marry him.

On Friday March 5th, 2011, William made reservations at III Forks, which is a
restaurant located on the Southside of town. When speaking to one of the hostess William
requested to be placed near the fire pit wall and told the hostess that he was going too
proposed to his girlfriend. They notified him that they take pictures of special occasions.

This was going to be perfect because Elizabeth never turns down taking a picture. On that
night William told Elizabeth to get dress that they were going to dinner.
After we were ready we got into the car and William drove towards Gate Parkway.
Elizabeth thought they were headed to Shula’s.

After a short drive, William did a U-Turn because he pasted right by III Forks due to his nervousness. Elizabeth, of course asked where they were going and William said let him handle it. Soon we arrived at III Forks. We
were greeted by the hostess and was told to go to the bar until our table was ready. At the
bar William would not let Elizabeth get close to him because he feared she would feel the
ring box inside his front pocket…
…After dinner, Elizabeth had to use the restroom and William called the hostess over to let
her know to get the camera ready and when Elizabeth got back from the restroom to ask
them do they want to take a picture. When Elizabeth returned the hostess came over and
asked did we want to take a picture.

Of all the times!!! Elizabeth did not want to take a picture! William told her that they needed too and that he wanted her to sit in front of the fire wall. When Elizabeth changed seats, William got on one knee with the engagement ring
in hand and asked Elizabeth “Will you Marry Me?” Elizabeth with nervousness and
excitement said “Did you ask my dad?” and then when William confirmed that he did,
Elizabeth said YES!

How did you decide on your color scheme, flowers, and cake?

Color Scheme:

Elizabeth LOVES Tiffany blue, so when it came to the colors she definitely wanted that
to be the main color. Grey was the offset color that she decided would look best with
Tiffany blue.

Flowers:

Every month anniversary William would send Elizabeth flowers. She loved the flowers,
but when it came to her wedding she wanted artificial so that they would last a lifetime. She
didn’t want anything too big to take away from her dress and the bridesmaid dresses, so
William and Elizabeth decided on a dozen white roses for her and half a dozen for her
bridesmaids. One of Elizabeth’s co-worker made the flowers and decided to add the Tiffany
blue ribbon and jewels into the bouquets.

Cake:

When it came to the cake, hands down it had to be something that was made by Publix. Elizabeth and William are not really traditional so when it came to the wedding cake all they
knew was they didn’t want it to be all white, so Elizabeth did some research and found a
design on theknot.com that involved alternating blue and white. So their cake was Tiffany
Blue and white.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

Jamaica!!! Sandals Montego Bay

If you could give yourself any advice prior to the wedding, what would it be?

Relax! Through all the stress, just remember that at the end of the day you love the
person who you are marrying and it doesn’t matter what doesn’t go right; at the end of the
day you are married to the person of your dreams.
